Like a lot of cities around the country, the RNO has some mondo budget problems. One of the solutions to save money was to lay off 19 firefighters. But last night several firefighters and their wives went to the City Council to plead their case. They talked about how devastated their families would be if daddy got a pink slip. They talked about how firefighters are heroes who don’t deserve this kind of treatment. After IAFF 731 decided to forego a couple of raises, the city caved and the firefighters got to keep their gigs. Question: Would any other city employee get the same break if their families lobbied the city council? No. So now instead trying to spread the pain evenly across the spectrum, the council has decided that firefighters are untouchable. Don’t you wish all workers had those kind of rights?
Monday night Letterman was makin’ hella fun of VPILF Sarah Palin and her fam. Some of his jokes were pretty crude but nothing outta the ordinary. But the tighty-righties (Palin included) had themselves a conniption over it. They freaked so much that Letterman had to issue an apology (of sorts). Isn’t it funny that when Bill-O and Fat Boy incite their audience to kill abortion doctors, Muslims or anyone else they don’t agree with, it’s called “free speech.” But when a comedian calls a right-wing politician a slut he gets vilified? SHEESH!
And finally today…there have now been three terrorist attacks, on American soil, in the last week-and-a-half. All three were carried out by BSC motherhubbards. We knew they were coming, though. Remember in April when DHS released their report saying these kinda things were gonna happen? Remember? When they released the report, what did the tighty-righties do? They demanded a retraction, an apology and the resignation of Janet Napolitano, the head of DHS. Yo Republicans…if you wanna know why y’all are goin’ the way of the Whigs, look no further than this. They say they want to protect the citizenry, they say they want to keep America safe…and since they're politicians, you know it’s bullshit.

PJ - People do not have the right to have a job and when the budgets need to get cut some jobs turn out to be more important than others. Firefighters - of all city and county workers are pretty damn important. In addition to running into burning buildings to save people and property - they respond to car wrecks, medical emergencies and rescue the odd cat. Yes - other city workers provide useful services - but some are more important than others. Deal with it.
Letterman's jokes were a bit over the line, but that in itself isn't exactly why everyone is having a fit about it. Try changing the subject to be about Michelle Obama looking slutty, or about Chelsea Clinton getting knocked up during the 7th inning stretch and there would be an outcry like you've never heard. There would be nothing short of a public execution for that.
Lastly... 1 abortion Dr. gets murdered and everyone is up in arms. Some Muslim convert kills and wounds a couple of American Recruits - and NOTHING... The day Tiller was murdered Obama responded right away saying what a horrible tragedy this was. Obama didn't respond to the Americans being killed or wounded until 3 days later, only remarking that it was sad. He's supposed to be the F'ing Commander in Chief - he should have more respect for his soldiers.
As for the nutjob at the Holocost memorial yesterday - Swing and a miss - strike two... The guy was no right winger. Republicans and conservatives are all solidly pro-Israel. Conservatives and Republicans don't believe that Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks - they want to kill the muslims - remember??? It's your side that is anti-semetic. It's your side that's pro-palestine and anti-Israel. It's your side that thinks that Bush was behind 9/11. It's your side that hates this country and believes the worst conspiracies and lies that we're responsible for everything bad int he world. Just because your buddies with the tingles running up and down their legs at MSNBC say it was a right winger doesn't make it true. We just want the government to get the fuck out of our lives so we can work and live free. We don't need any bailouts. Since Roe v. Wade- there have been only 5 doctors murdered in your so called acts of terrorism. I think 3000+ murders from your side has quite a bit of a lead from the 5 on our side.
Napalitano had it completely wrong, and had no right to accuse returning soldiers, or Ron Paul supporters of being terrorists. There is no basis in facts to support that claim.
I should have been clearer on this post. The BSC motherhubbard that killed the soldier was a Muslim extremist, the freak who shot doctor Tiller was a right-wing nut case and the ass-wipe who shot up the Holocaust Museum was an anti-semitic fuck-wad.

None of those knucklehead killers are terrorists, they are just idiots giving gun owners a bad name (even the one's who forget their gun is in their purse when they go to the airport - heh, heh, heh); and if the abortion doctor killer hasn't figured it out yet, he soon will realize that the flames and pitchfork up his ass isn't St Pete saying welcome to the pearly gates.
The real terrorists are the politicians with their own get-rich/power trip agenda's; it doesn't matter which party or wing they claim to side with, they are almost all the same, crooked! And all I know is that there is not a single politician that represents the average American. And Harry Reid is a Liar, a Coward and a Traitor.
If we do not band together with our neighbors and start looking out for ourselves, by voting almost all of these ass-wipes out of office, we'll all be at the mercy of today's political machine that wants to control every aspect of our lives.
And firemen are not hero's! If they did the job they do without pay, then maybe. But they should be just as expendable as the next guy.
